Alan Wake’s opening moments released

The first few moments of Alan Wake have been put online.
Get it below.
The video shows the game’s first couple of levels in the Remedy thriller.
Shit’s looking good, Ringo. We seen it yesterday in London, but we’re NDA’ed out of our backside until next month.
Sorry.
Game’s out on May 18 and May 21 in the US and UK for 360. But not for PC: it’s dead.
Writer Sam Lake hinted earlier this morning at more from the story could be on the way from other mediums such as movies.
Thanks, AGB.

Eurogamer has a preview up today too. I’m not watching this vid, though – too much spoilerage.

@The Hindle, no it wasn’t a review event, I was there and it was just to give the guys in the UK a chance to play.

Although the whole concept and story seems to be ripped from a B-movie i must say visually the game is stunning and the gameplay seems fair

Not really digging this TBH. It looks great technically, but everything I’ve seen just looks too American Thriller in style vs my preference for Japanese/European horror.
I guess I’m just more of a Silent Hill type – until they ruined it by going all American Thriller.
Still, for those that do prefer this more actiony, thriller style I’m sure it’ll be a blast.

i really hope this isn’t too actiony
but from the game play demo they showed at last E3 of alan wake with shotgun vs possessed tracker, maybe i shouldn’t hold my breath

Story and presentation for this game looks great but gameplay does seem a little eh
Might need to see things in context to get more out of it.
BTW people keep complaining about this game being either a thriller or a horror, so please tell me what is it? It looks like a horror to me given the supernatural elements and when compared to heavy rain which is definitely a thriller they don’t seem similar O_o

Frankly, Alan Wake can suck it now. Ever since it was announced that it wouldn’t be coming to the PC, I have absolutely no interest in this game (or franchise, as they would have you think of it).

@the hindle it pkays really well I think, I like the combination of having to use the light and weapons. I managed to get used to the controls really quickly and once i did it was very straight forward.
