Microsoft will receive an Emmy Award for Xbox One’s television-on-demand services

Microsoft will receive an Emmy Award for Television Enhancement Devices due to Xbox One’s television-on-demand and media center capabilities.

The firm announced the news via Xbox Wire.

"Microsoft is in good company with the likes of fellow award recipients Apple, Roku, Sony, and TiVo – and we’re proud to be awarded this honor by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences," reads a statement on the site.

Last Thursday, the 66th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Award nominations took place at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada as part of ongoing 2015 Consumer Electronics Show.
