According to this GI story, Nintendo's confirmed that Wii sold 10.8 million units in Europe in 2008.

The firm also apparently said that PS3 outsold Xbox 360 across the Continent that year.

The data comes from a financial presentation, although we can't find the specific source.

The story also says that, "The Wii hit its peak in April with nearly 180,000 units sold, compared to its rivals sales of around 90,000 each," adding, "However, the data did suggest that the recent price cut on the Xbox 360 improved sales, with Microsoft selling over 60,000 units in October, topping the PS3."

More through there.
