Total War: Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai has new boats, guns

Sega's announced a standalone expansion pack, titled Fall of the Samurai, for Total War: Shogun 2. It's to include six new playable clans who will need to "deal with" the foreign powers of America, Britain and France, as well as fighting against domestic factions.

The expansion promises to bring an improved campaign map. New building and technology trees, including railways and naval bombardments, will also feature. It'll have ten new ship types, such as Ironclad class battleships and torpedo boats.

Fall of the Samurai will also come with 30 new units for armies, including the infamous Gatling gun.

The expansion is slated for a March 2012 release, and is being billed as a "huge upgrade" to the original game.
