Soul Calibur V story modes just one quarter of intended content

Project Soul's lofty plans for Soul Calibur V were cut down considerably during development.

According to team leader Daishi Odashima, Project Soul simply didn't have the resources to do everything it - and fans - wanted.

“Our first plan on the storyboard was that we had every characters story," he told Train2Game.

"But time-wise, man power-wise we weren’t able to do it and only one fourth of what we planned to do is in the game.”

Project Soul even began production on some of the missing content before cutting it.

“Some of the voice-overs are already taken but haven’t been used," he said.

"We want to make use of it somehow, but we don’t know how that’s going to be.”

Soul Calibur V has the largest cast the series has seen since Soul Calibur III. It's available now on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
