Skylanders: Swap Force engine built with next-gen in mind, Xbox One visual tech discussed

Skylanders: Swap Force will run at native 1080p on Xbox One, according to producer Chris Wilson.

It follows Activision's press release on the matter, stating that the game runs at 1080p native on both PS4 and Xbox One.

The revelation comes from the pages of OXM, during which Wilson said that the game's engine was, "always built with next-gen in mind. This tech allows the team to produce, "volumetric water, dynamic lighting with ambient occlusion, physics, high levels of antialiasing/anisotropic filtering, and the biggie - parallax occlusion mapping, a cutting edge effect used to procedurally create 3D definition in textured surfaces."

The what-what in the what-now?

Either way, it's nice to know that Skylanders is getting some next-gen love ahead of the Xbox One launch, seeing as it always sells gangbusters.

Xbox One launches November 22, as does Skylanders: Swap Force
