PSN reaches 70 million monthly active users, PS Plus subs over 26 million

Sony has revealed updated data about the health of the PlayStation Network, and PlayStation Plus.

Sony published some interesting figures after its most recent corporate strategy meeting. In the report, the company provided a higher-level look at all of its sectors, gaming included.

The report [PDF] includes a few slides about the PlayStation Network, as well as PlayStation Plus. In it, Sony confirmed that PSN has now reached 70 million monthly active users.

In a separate presentation [PDF], Sony also said that PlayStation Plus has 26.4 million subscribers, up from 20.8 million the year before. The company plans to expand this user base further this year.

PlayStation VR was mentioned, with Sony promising to expand the medium beyond games to include other entertainment such as music and movies.
