New Editor for Official Nintendo Magazine

Neil Long joins Future from respected games trade title MCV

10/10/08 – Future, the special interest media group today announces the appointment of Neil Long as the new Editor of its fast-growing Official Nintendo Magazine.

Neil joins Future in November from his role as Editor on MCV – the respected games trade bible, published by Intent Media. A lifelong gaming enthusiast, he got his break in the games industry back in 2004 with fondly remembered games retailer Special Reserve – creating their website and bi-monthly magazine. Moving to MCV in 2005, Neil was promoted to Editor in August 2007, recognising his key role in breaking many of the games industry’s biggest stories.

At Future, Neil will work closely with Publisher and Official Nintendo Magazine veteran, Lee Nutter as they seek to continue its circulation growth. The title posted a massive increase of 27.6% year-on-year to sell 61,159 copies a month in the Jan-June 2008 ABC figures, the bestselling Nintendo title since 2001. Leading the Editorial team, Neil will bring fresh ideas to the magazine and further develop its strong relationship with its readers and the games trade.
