Might & Magic: Duel of Champions gets Forgotten War expansion

The latest expansion to Might & Magic: Duel of Champions adds 150 new cards, a new Academy faction, the Altar of Wishes and new mechanics.

The Altar of Wishes is a particularly interesting addition as it assists in obtaining the specific cards you're chasing for your deck; according to producer Stephane Jankowski, it was implemented at the players' request and is a "a solution that is true to the balanced and fair competitive spirit of the game".

The Altar unlocks when players receive their first Wildcard, typically from an in-game achievement. Wildcards can be exchanged for any card you're after, assuming you have enough to meet the price; it depends on rarity and series. Collecting 200 cards form a series unlocks new ones at the Altar.

The new faction, Academy, is based on high risk high reward game-play, and features mages whose strength amplifies the power of spell-based decks. The creatures in Academy have high requirements and specific vulnerabilities. Exploit Magic Channel creatures and defend with Spell Resist to succeed.
