Microsoft fighting for UK Xbox One domains

Microsoft does not own the domain names XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net, and has begun a legal battle with their UK-based owner.

Fusible reports Microsoft has filed a complaint with the National Arbitration Forum (NAF) over both domains.

Both domain names are registered to a UK resident, and as Microsoft has filed just one complaint regarding both names, it seems they both belong to the same owner.

The dispute was filed just one day after the Xbox One name was revealed. Microsoft has a long track record of successful domain name disputes.

Prior to announcing the Xbox One (or XBone for short, which is pronounced crossbones, okay?) last week, Microsoft filed a slew of misleading domain names like Xbox Fusion and variations of Xbox Gold, but rather cleverly didn't make a single claim on Xbox One itself. It didn't hesitate to get right on that, though.

Thanks, Joystiq.
