Marvel’s Avengers Comic-Con 2019 panel is bringing gameplay, but only to attendees

More details have been revealed about the Marvel’s Avengers panel being held next week at the San Diego Comic-Con 2019.

The Marvel Games panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 was previously revealed to feature new content on Marvel's Avengers, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and Iron Man VR.

The majority of those tuning in are probably interested in Marvel's Avengers the most, as Crystal Dynamics' action game remains the most mysterious. Though the original panel details teased surprises and announcements, it now appears gameplay will also be involved. Unfortunately, those watching at home won't be getting any of it.

Comingsoon published panel details straight from Square Enix, in which the publisher confirmed that Hall H attendees - where the panel will be held - will get to see the game's first public gameplay reveal, but it's only limited to those attending in person.

Though it's unclear whether that's the same demo shown behind closed doors at E3 last month or a new one, it's still disappointing that the millions watching at home won't be seeing any of it. The panel itself will be livestreamed, but seemingly not the gameplay part.

We've followed up with Square Enix to clarify the structure of the panel. The show kicks off at 1:30pm PT, 4:30pm ET, 6:30pm BST on Thursday, July 18.

Marvel’s Avengers is due out May 15 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
