Konami to take over Hudson in April

Konami's confirmed that it's to fully absorb Bomberman developer Hudson by the start of its next financial year.

According to Andriasang, Konami, who became Hudson's parent company in 2005 when it bought a 58 percent stake, will fully own the company on April 1, the start of fiscal 2012.

The main aim for Konami to absorb Hudson is for its knowhow in mobile gaming and social gaming after the latter's recent social debut, Viva! Mall.

Hudson CEO Michihiro Ishizuka will stand down on March 31, and will be replaced by Konami Digital Entertainment's Kazuhiko Uehara.

Konami is also looking into other aspects of the move, such as name changes and merging the two companies business operations.
