Gauntlet designer nabs AIAS Pioneer award

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences will honour Gauntlet designer Ed Logg with a Pioneer award.

Gamasutra reports the AIAS will indust Logg into its Pioneer honorees at its 15th annual Interactive Achievement Awards event in Las Vegas in February.

As well as leading development on classic top-down dungeon shooter Gauntlet in 1985, Logg was also co-designer on both Centipede and Asteroids.

This is the third time the AIAS has given out a Pioneer Award. Last year, Raster Blaster creator Bill Budge was honoured, while Activision co-founder David Crane was the first.
