Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location - Guide, Tips, and Walkthrough

Here's everything you need to know about Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, including how to survive the perilous nights.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location is the fifth game in Scott Cawthon's Five Nights at Freddy's survival-horror series. Whereas the previous four games play similarly, Sister Location changes things up quite a bit.

For starters, there are new animatronics to contend with, including a clown-like horror called Circus Baby, who actually debuted in Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF) World. She's more human-looking than good ol' Freddy Fazbear, but unfortunately, her "mercy" reserves are still running a bit low.

Not everything is exactly how it seems, however. Yes, you'll die over and over in Circus Baby's company, but there's something stirring just below her cold plastic surface that indicates her motivations are not entirely malignant. As is the case with most Five Nights at Freddy's games, the animatronics' reasons for being hostile can't simply be attributed to a thirst for blood.

That doesn't mean you won't get skinned if you fail to tread carefully around Circus Baby and her friends, however. They're all very irate.

Sister Location: Not the Same Old Pizza

There are two major differences between Sister Location and the previous FNAF games. One, Sister Location grants you a limited range of movement. You're not locked into a single room; you can crawl between parts of the underground bunker you work out of.

Second, and more notably, Sister location doesn't have you repeat the same task night after night. Instead, each night tasks you with a new challenge you must complete (and survive through).

Also, much of the game's unsettling atmosphere is delivered via psychological cat-and-mouse with the player. There's a lot of voice acting in Sister Location, and each character has a different account of previous events that transpired, and why you should trust / help them rather than listen to the other characters talking to you.

Scott Cawthon admitted he wanted to take some extra time to polish Sister Location, and it looks like the FNAF series has seen some welcome improvement as a consequence. These games still aren't for everyone – there are still plenty of jump scares, and Lord knows the plot's near-indecipherable, especially if you're not familiar with FNAF lore to date – but the extra effort Scott put into Sister Location definitely shows.

You just need to survive long enough to appreciate it all.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location Employee Survival Guide

-Your first night in Sister Location is a gimmie. HandUnit introduces you to the animatronics, and teaches you the basics of moving around. You'll have to give each animatronic a shock, which surely endears them to you. Then your shift's over. Don't get comfortable; the rest of the game isn't nearly this simple.

-The second night tasks you with hiding under a desk, and keeping the door closed against Baby's tiny terrors, the BidyBabs. Keep the hiding spot closed securely by holding the mouse button and pulling on the indicated spot. Make sure your mouse doesn't travel outside said spot. Then you have to walk through Ballora's auditorium to reboot the power grid. Go slowly, and listen to her music for cues as per Baby's advice. When rebooting the power grid, lower the monitor when the Danger notification gets too high.

-The third night has you fixing animatronics. Use the flash beacon on the way to Freddy and Bonnie. Press the buttons as instructed (Bonnie is a slippery devil, so act quickly with him). Use the flash beacon again to get back through Foxy's territory. If you catch her in a flash, stay still for a bit.

-During the fourth night, you have to survive against an onslaught of Minireenas while trapped inside a Springtrap suit. It's difficult! That's why we have a guide to help you through night four of Sister Location.

-Night five is quite straightforward, but how you complete it depends on whether or not you want to uncover Sister Location's secret room and real ending.

By the way – if you're looking to discover Sister Location's secret ending, you'll want to know how to beat Circus Baby's cupcake mini-game.
