FIFA takes two spots on Google's top game searches of 2012 chart

Google has released a list of the top ten gaming searches over the course of 2012, with FIFA taking out not one but two slots.

The list, published by MCV, is in alphabetical order, so it's hard to judge whether a single game managed to top the year. That said, FIFA 12 and FIFA 13 both made it in, so let's declare it the winner.

EA had a third entry with Mass Effect 3, and Activision managed two with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and the Skylanders franchise. Take Two arguably hit the same target with Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 and 2K's Borderlands 2. Grand Theft Auto 5 is the only unreleased game to make the list.

Here's the full list:

  • Assassin's Creed 3 (Ubisoft, 2012)
  • Black Ops 2 (Activision, 2012)
  • Borderlands 2 (2K, 2012)
  • FIFA 12 (EA Sports, 2011)
  • FIFA 13 (EA Sports, 2012)
  • GTA 5 (Rockstar, 2013)
  • Halo 4 (Microsoft, 2012)
  • Mass Effect 3 (EA, 2012)
  • Skylanders (Activision, 2011, 2012)
  • Skyrim (Bethesda, 2011)
