Epic announces Project Sword for Apple devices

Epic president Mike Capps took the stage at the Apple's fall showcase today, to announce Project Sword for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Project Sword, which is just the codename at the moment, is currently in development with Chair Entertainment (Shadow Complex), and is a sword fighting game which focuses on 1-on-1 battles in a medieval setting.

Upon release, the game will contain multiplayer and Achievement support through Apple's Game Center.

A demo of the castle featured in the Project Sword demonstration is now available on iTunes for both iPhone and iPad - through the link it's being called Epic Citadel, and thanks to Unreal 3, it looks awesome.

The game itself is slated for release this year.

Thanks, Joystiq.
