Early reviews for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning surface

A couple outlets have gone live with reviews for 38 Studios' Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and so far, it sounds promising.

In the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine, it was handed an 8 according to Metacritic, and IGN has gone live with its review, handing the RPG a 9.

According to IGN, Big Hige Games has "proved once and for all that great role-playing experiences don't have to sacrifice what matters most in any game -- gameplay -- while still remaining true to all of the minutiae that makes the best RPGs great."

The review admits the game "has its own flaws," but at the same time it "isn't a game you should sleep on... Amalur demands your attention."

More reviews should start popping up after the weekend ends, as the game is out on Tuesday, February 7 in the US and Friday, February 10 in the UK for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
