EA voted out of Consumerist's Worst Company in America poll

EA has won the dubious title of Worst Company in America two years running, but is out of the race for the 2014 vote.

EA was knocked out in the first round by Time Warner, whose reputation as a cable service provider is shaky to say the least.

According to The Consumerist, which hosts the annual poll, EA's escape was "the narrowest margin of victory since 2011, when BP beat Bank of America for the WCIA by less than 1%".

"Despite its cock-up of the Battlefield 4 and Titanfall releases, EA just didn’t have the all-out support that it had received in the previous two tournaments," the site noted.

"And while Time Warner Cable has always merited a spot in the WCIA brackets, the company’s pending merger with former WCIA champ Comcast undoubtedly played into readers’ voting decisions."

Last year, when EA took the crown for the second year running, Peter Moore vowed that the company could and would do better - while also denying the validity of the "award".
