Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect banned after filming inside public bathroom

Dr Disrespect, one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, took a camera into an E3 bathroom.

Guy "Dr Disrespect" Beahm, is attending E3 this week and decided to perform a bit of a stunt for what he says was his first in real life stream.

The streamer went into a men's room at the Los Angeles Convention Center, where E3 is held, and his cameraman followed him. Beahm left and entered a couple of different bathrooms, all the while the whole thing was being streamed live on Twitch.

On one occasion, his camera man filmed from behind as he urinated. On another, Beahm asked his cameraman to wait outside, only for him to barge in again and continue filming. Needless to say, a few people who did not expect to be filmed in a public bathroom can be seen in the clips, including someone who may have been a minor.

Shortly after the incident, Dr Disrespect's stream was shut down and his channel suspended. At the time of writing, Dr Disrespect's channel remains inaccessible, with most of the clips captured from the stream taken down. Mirrors of the original clips can be found online, but we're not going to link them here.

This is a clear violation of Twitch's community guidelines, which explicitly list "recording someone against their will", and "stalking or violating someone’s established personal boundaries" among what it considers harassment. Further, filming in public bathrooms is also a violation of California's penal code.

Since the ban, E3 organiser the ESA has also revoked Beahm's E3 badge, per Kotaku.

It's unclear whether this ban is temporary or permanent. Twitch doesn't typically comment on bans and suspensions, but it's doubtful Dr Disrespect will remain offline for long. In the past, big streamers who violated Twitch's TOS were suspended for 14 days at most.
