Deadpool game penned by regular writer

High Moon's Deadpool game is being written by Daniel Way, the current regular writer of the anti-hero's comic series.

Activision representative Dan Amrich outed Way's involvement on his blog. Since Deadpool's banter is one of the character's most treasured traits, the news is likely to be welcomed by fans.

Deadpool was created by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza, and debuted in New Mutants before making his way to other Marvel comics and eventually his own line.

Although other writers have handled the stand-alone Deadpool titles, notably Victor Gischler on Merc with a Mouth and Joe Kelly on volume 2, Way is behind the current volume, which has run since 2008.

Deadpool is due in 2013, but Activision is yet to confirm platforms.
