Battlefield 4 players have long clamoured for more nighttime action (hem hem), and it's finally on the way thanks to the efforts of community members like our pal Westie.

In a new Battlelog blog post, DICE shared some details of Zavod: Graveyard Shift, which will be included in the Night Operations update when it releases in September.

Zavod: Graveyard Shift isn't just Zavod 311 with the brightness turned down; it's the first Battlefield map to have a dedicated alternate layout for nighttime play. It supports Conquest, Rush, Team Deathmatch, Obliteration, Domination and Gun Master. For Gun Master, there's a special new Weapons Preset specifically tailored for nighttime.

The update also brings a number of improvements to nighttime play. The developer said it has touched up spotting for easier flanking, improved sound so you can pinpoint footsteps, and given various gadgets a once-over.

Beyond nighttime stuff, the patch also delivers a new public server team balancer, some weapons tweaks and additional netcode improvements.
