Asking the Readers: What Are Your Thoughts on Early Access?

We're working on a piece about Early Access, and we want to hear your thoughts. Share them here!

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

When developers are praising Early Access, they like to refer to the close working relationship they have with their fans. So that begs the question: What do you think about Early Access?

I'm currently working on an in-depth look at the successes, failures, and overall development of Early Access, and I'd love to hear your thoughts. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Is it a good thing for gaming?

With the success of games like DayZ, more and more developers are using the Early Access model.

Early Access, of course, has been around in one form or another for a few years now, but it really burst into the public consciousness with the introduction of Steam Early Access and the parallel rise of crowd funding. So what are your thoughts? Share your feelings in the comments or send a DM to Kat.Bailey. Let's get a conversation about this going. I may use the comments that I like in my upcoming piece.

Note that this is not by any means a scientific poll and should not be treated as such. I just want to hear what you have to say about it, not the least because community involvement is so crucial to the success of Early Access. So let's talk!
