Ancel says Rayman Origins dev lasted two years in new video

Rayman Origins boss Michel Ancel has said development took place over a two year period, speaking in a long video about the platformer

"Making a game like Rayman Origins is an experience for us, it's two years of work," said Ancel in a new dev diary posted on The Guardian.

"The biggest reward is visualising other people in front of their TV. That's really what we're really waiting for, other people just having fun."

At the beginning of the video, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guilemot noted Rayman was a "boost" for the publisher, and showed "reativity and freshness really were everything in the industry."

Video isn't embeddable, so you'll have to click through the link to watch it. Game's out now in the US, but releases in the UK and Europe next Friday for PS3, 360 and Wii.
