3DS confirmed for March 31 Aussie launch at AU$349

Nintendo's just confirmed a March 31 release for 3DS in Australia at a launch price of AU$349, following announcements of US and European launch details last month.

Assembled media and guests were visibly shocked by the console's suggested pricing, which includes a significant disparity with other territories despite currency equalities.

The console's much-praised Street Pass data exchange service was given a vague launch window of late 2011 to early 2012.

Nintendo confirmed at events in Amsterdam and New York last month that 3DS will launch in Europe on March 25 and in the US for March 27.

It'll launch in the US at a price point of $249. In Europe, Nintendo have left it up to retailers to decide a price, although prices are currently within the region of £209-£229.
