Ghost of Tsushima has sold 5 million since July

Sony's first-party line-up on PS4 appears to have been very successful.

Ghost of Tsushima, Sony's most recent first-part release on PS4, has already sold over 5 million copies since its release in July.

The new figure was revealed in a New York Times profile, which also said the God of War series has sold over 51 million units.

Within three days on sale, Ghost of Tsushima managed to sell more than 2.4 million units around the world, making it the PS4's fastest-selling first-party IP debut. During the same month, Tsushima was the US' best-selling game, according to the NPD.

The Japan-set epic also fascinated Japanese players, who made it the country's second-highest PS4 game in sales for a first-party game ever.

On the God of War side of things, Kratos' latest outing sold more than 5 million units in its first month. By May 2019 – just over a year after the game's release – this had doubled to 10 million units.

A sequel, God of War Ragnarok, was revealed for the PS5 in September, set for release in 2021.
