Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay gives us our first look at sweet lightsaber action

We were finally given a look at what to expect when Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order lands in November, and you can watch the video right here.

A 15 minute deep dive into Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay was revealed during the EA Play 2019 livestream today  by Stig Asmussen and Vince Zampella.

The duo kicked the gameplay off about three hours into the game on the lush Wookie planet Kashyyyk. Here, Imperial forces are mining sap to create a lethal material.

You are no longer a Padawan, but not a full-fledged Jedi at this point either.  Cal's goal is to rescue Wookies imprisoned at a base on the planet. He is helped by Rogue One's  Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), who sets up a diversion to distract the Troopers.

In the video you will see some wall running, acrobatics, climbing, and of course some Force powers.  We were also give a glimpse of how handy your pet droid BD-1 will come in. The droid can hack doors, computers, scan the environment to glean information, and more.

Troopers in the game appear to range from fodder, to those wielding flamethrowers, scouts and Purge troopers.  Other enemies shown included a KX droid mini-boss, and a rather formidable spider. We expect more dangerous wildlife will be encountered.

Check out some sweet Jedi Fallen: Order gameplay below.

You can expect Force powers such as flip, push, pull and another power called "slow," and you will earn skill points in the game.

Respawn wouldn't delve too much into the story due to spoilers, but Zampella and Asmussen did confirm the lore was cannon. This means you won't be able to switch to the Dark side - even if they have cookies.

You will also meet different characters in the game, according to a game description posted by Microsoft.

  • Cere Junda (played by Debra Wilson)
A former Jedi Knight on a quest to restore the Jedi Order, she needs Cal’s help to unlock an ancient mystery, and offers to complete his Jedi training in return.
  • Saw Gerrera (Rogue One - Played by Forest Whitaker)
A tactical and ruthless guerrilla fighter who will go to any lengths to achieve victory. Having once fought in the Clone Wars, Saw now leads a band of rebels against the Empire.
  • Greez Dritus
A cantankerous pilot who gets along better with his ship than he does with other people.

Jedi Fallen Order

As Respawn previously outlined, Jedi Fallen Order takes place a few months after Order 66 was implemented, as seen in the film Revenge of the Sith. Cal Kestis a Padewan who survived the purge.

More of the game will be shown during the Xbox E3 2019 briefing tomorrow.
