Shadow of the Colossus is out this week on PS4, and if you’ve never played the original, this story trailer should get you up to speed.
Shadow of the Colossus was originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2005, and re-released in 2011 as part of a remastered collection with Ico for PS3. Now, it’s heading to PS4, and has been rebuilt for current-gen users.
The story of Shadow of the Colossus begins as main character Wander, riding his horse Agro, enters a forbidden land where he will find colossi. That’s as far as I will go with it, as there’s no need spoil the game for newcomers.
A comparison video of the PS2, PS3 and PS4 versions was released not long ago, and should give an idea of how the game differs in appearance in both cinematic and performance modes. The Shadow of the Colossus remake features revamped visuals and modernized controls.
Trophies which can be earned in Shadow of the Colossus surfaced recently, and you can look over those through the link.
Shadow of the Colossus remake was announced during E3 2017 and will release on PS4 February 6, and it’s a darling with critics already. That shouldn’t surprise anyone really, as the original was a hit with critics as well.
