Telltale announces mega super-duper crossover… Poker game

Crazy. Wacky. Zany. Wild. Hilarious. Unpredictable.
All of these words can be used to describe gaming hall-of-famers like Tycho, Strongbad, Sam & Max, and TF2′s Heavy. The game of Poker, though? Well, let’s just say we can personally vouch for the fact that World Series of Poker matches on ESPN are a fantastic sleep aid.

Telltale teases crossover of Sam & Max, Penny Arcade, Strongbad, and… Team Fortress?

So a homicidal rabbit, a dog detective, two people who may eventually attain sainthood while writing about “dickwolves” on the side, a luchador who reads emails for a living, and – for some reason – Team Fortress 2′s Heavy walk into a bar…

Episodic Jurassic Park adventure game in the works at Telltale

What’s more daunting than a T-Rex with teeth the size of great white sharks (who each, themselves, have larger-than-average teeth) on your tail? Well, nothing, actually.
Anyone can turn around, violently wet themselves, and shoot a T-Rex between the eyes, though. No sweat. The real question is, do you have what it takes to solve some puzzles?

Sam and Max may go into Space during Season 3

Telltale has posted a link on its site to a Sam and Max teaser suggesting that Season 3 will take the crime fighting duo into Space.
There’s even a sound clip talking all philosophical and such through here.
It’s possible. The duo has already met Santa and Satan, so it’s not that far-fetched.
Thanks, BigDownload.

Telltale: We have something “that’ll blow everybody’s mind”
Speaking in an interview with Shack (via D’Toid), Telltale’s Dan Connors has revealed that the studio has lined up something “that’ll blow everybody’s mind”.
Asked what would they be doing after Wallace and Gromit and Monkey Island was finished, Connors said:
“We’ve got product in production right now that we’ve been talking about but we haven’t really set a release date to. Everything else, we’re just ….we’re out in the streets, sort of talking around to different folks to figure our franchises that make real good sense for a May-June timeframe.
“Hopefully we’ll pull something in that’ll blow everybody’s mind. We’re pretty excited about the people we’re talking to, so hopefully we’ll have a pretty huge announcement here soon.”
Exciting, kids. Today’s keyword is “exciting”. Find the full interview through the first link.

Telltale announcing “new franchises” in new genres “around October”
Adventure specialist Telltale is gearing up to announce new titles “around October,” head honcho Dan Connors has told VG247 in a phone interview, and it sounds as though the studio – known for its episodic comedy titles, such as Sam & Max – is about to get more serious.
“Yes, probably in the next few months,” said Connor on the subject of when we’re going to see new Telltale series announced.
“I think there’ll be some combination of things. I think we’ll be sticking with some of the franchises we’ve worked with, and we’ll be announcing some new franchises, probably in some new genres as well, not just comedy.”
Connor went on to say that audiences had allied with TV shows such as Sopranos, True Blood and Lost thanks to their “drama” and “psychological connection,” and added that games like Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain may lead Telltale towards the same goal.
“Heavy Rain is something that really seems to be going after that sense,” he said.
“We’ve always believed that there was a chance to get there as well. We want to continue to evolve the genre. We’ve already evolved the genre in a lot of ways in what we’ve done with Sam & Max and Wallace & Gromit… but we believe there’s a lot of head-room to make more dramatic advances in storytelling and drama inside of this genre.”
We’ll have more from the interview soon.
