After you’ve made Tokyo Jungle, you make this: Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day, a collaboration between Crispy and Goichi Suda and part of a film project based on Katsuhiro Otomo’s Short Peace manga. This Tokyo Game Show trailer is our second look at the game following a debut effort, and gives a better look at the unique “high speed effect action” gameplay. A PlayStation 3 exclusive, it’s due in Japan in January and has not been confirmed for the west.

Killer is Dead director Goichi Suda is working on a side-scrolling game based on Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo’s upcoming film, Short Peace, for PS3. The game is to be published by Namco Bandai. The film, which lands in theaters this month in Japan is made up of four short stories with the aforementioned Longest Day considered the fifth short story but is instead a video game. Suda will be working with Tokyo Jungle director Yohei Kataoka on it. More through Siliconera.

Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda has said he’s “always up to the idea” of creating another No More Heroes game. Speaking with Joystiq, Suda 51 said: “Travis [Touchdown] is one of the characters I’m really fond of, that means a lot to me. So if there was the opportunity to create another sequel then yeah, I’m always up to the idea.” Until then, fans can appease themselves with Killer is Dead on PS3 and Xbox 360 in August.

Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufacture’s Killer is Dead is featured in the latest edition of Famitsu. Announced as being in development last year, the game that takes place in a future where the Moon is a vacation destination and the main character’s arm is your main weapon.
