Battlefield companion app dropping 'Battlelog' branding, getting full overhaul

Now that Battlelog isn't going to be part of Battlefield's future, the companion app is getting a redesign.

DICE has announced that the Battlefield companion app, currently known as the Battlelog Mobile App, is getting a major design overhaul and a name change. Since Battlelog is all but gone from Battlefield 1, this change makes sense.

The app will now simply be called Battlefield Companion, complete with a new design and interface. It supports Battlefield 1, of course, and lets you see an overview of your career, as well as those of your friends.

The app also allows you to customise solider loadouts on the go. All features support Battlefield 1 as well as Battlefield 4.

If you do not update the current Battlelog app on your phone, you'll still be able to use it the same way you do today. The new app is currently in development and is due for release this fall.

DICE said more details will be shared soon.
