Dishonored 2 leaked by Bethesda livestream slip up - rumour

Dishonored 2 is happening, and someone at Bethesda is probably pretty sorry for themselves.

dishonored

Dishonored 2 is something we've been hoping to see at E3 2015, but not counting on.

Our hopes have just been ratcheted up a few notches by reports that Bethesda has accidentally confirmed the sequel will be revealed during its livestreamed presentation tomorrow.

According to a number of sources, most notably YouTuber Matty Schroeder on Twitter, Bethesda left its Twitch running while staff were discussing tomorrow's conference, and let slip that Dishonored 2 would be part of the presentations.

The publisher realised its error all too late, according to a screengrab by RepentInReprise on Twitter:

The video on demand automatically created when the Bethesda Twitch stream ended has been deleted, and a video reportedly uploaded by Schroeder featuring Arkane Studios staff discussing ta planned reveal was smacked with a takedown immediately.

While we can't verify these reports and must therefore classify them as a rumour - after all, it could be an elaborate prank - wiser heads than mine all over the Twittersphere are treating the news as gospel, which is what inspired me to get out of bed at 0730 on a Sunday morning and share the excitement with you. Plus, Bethesda seems to have cheekily referenced the slip up with this tweet:

Earlier in the year we heard a credible rumour that Dishonored 2 would be skipping this year's show in favour of the new Definitive Edition. The sequel has been expected pretty much since the first Dishonored's successful launch, but our expectations were tempered by a succession of leaks and rumours that turned out to go nowhere.

Anyway, watch for Dishonored 2 at Bethesda's E3 2015 conference tomorrow. It's gonna happen. I believe. I wonder if this one will be made by Arkane, or another studio...?
