It looks like Ubisoft just let slip the Rainbow Six: Siege beta

Thursday, 12th June 2014 11:19 GMT By Dave Cook

Rainbow Six: Siege was announced at E3 2014 this week, and it appears that the tactical multiplayer shooter is going to get a beta phase before launch.

It follows Ubisoft’s explanation as to why Rainbow Six: Patriots switched to Siege, and why it’s gone from a campaign-focused shooter to a multiplayer-first affair.

We’ve also got the first Rainbow Six: Siege E3 2014 footage here.

Now, speaking with OXM, producer Sebastien Labbe was asked about the possibility of a beta, to which he (we’re guessing nervously) replied, “Maybe a PR will kill me if I say so. What I can say is that for sure, we’re no different from the other online shooters. We want to be online – we’re providing a strong PVP game, and if we want that we need to create a community. So if we wait until the launch, I expect it will be too late.

“There will certainly be things that will occur, but at the moment we can’t talk about that. It’s not clearly defined because it’s still a lot of work to do, but certainly there will be some announcements about that. So stay tuned.”

Wow, what a great article…all they say is:
Its not been decided whether they’ll have a beta or not. Not even sure if the game comes out 2015.
A PR guy will kill him because if he says “there is a beta” although there is none they can get problems and make customers angry.
This site is sometimes really pulling stuff out their asses don’t they.
I still have adblock enabled on this site. I would disable it if you guys think before you write.
Where is the God of War at E3. I remember you guys stating IT WILL BE THERE.
    Please get a grip

@Dave Cook ehm yes, i got that part.
Every game gets beta tested. Some are closed some are open. This is no News. They also didn’t ask about an open beta for everyone or if its closed or anything like that.
The sentence things will occur could mean anything related to a beta.
A beta can get cancelled and “Certain things occured”.
“It’s not clearly defined because it’s still a lot of work to do,” that means that whatever you predict or think can get slacked. Nothing has been decided.
You really need to double check man. Like I said, I visit your site but its going downhill.
I turn off adblock for certain sites that I like.
Your articles mostly sound like 100% confirmation for everything while in reality no real information was given.

Hopefully we can bring back the series to RS3 level. I wasn’t feeling Vegas.
