Watch The Witcher 3 press conference here at 7pm UK

Thursday, 5th June 2014 08:43 GMT By Dave Cook

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer and GOG creator CD Projekt RED will stream a press conference tonight at 7pm UK time, 8pm Europe, and you can watch it live right here.

When we reported on the stream last week, we had confirmation that new Witcher 3 gameplay would be revealed, along with pre-order details and a mysterious “new addition to Witcherverse.”

In a statement sent to VG247, CD Projekt RED co-founder Marcin Iwiński said of the stream, “If you think you’ve seen it all, we hope we’ll make you think again. This year’s conference is going to be really special, as we’ll be unveiling details about the much anticipated Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its Collector’s Edition, and also taking a look at how what you love about GOG.com can be made even better.”

The team behind GOG will also announce what it’s been working on at the end.

It follows US president Barack Obama admitting that he’s not great at games, but that he admires The Witcher. Find out why through the link.

Exciting. I want to see Cyberpunk as well, but that’s probably ages off.

So what happened to this game using a new engine? It looks exactly the same as the last games engine

@POOhead This game needs to now stream all of the game’s content seemlessly, as in, no areas, no stupid doors and gates, and no visible or invisible loading screens, plus it adds new dynamic weather effects (strong wind bends the trees, grass, Geralt’s hair and equipment, the storm can break the masts and sink ships etc.), not to mention a lot of other things RedEmgine2 could not do. That being said, They probably did not create the engine from scratch, they just heavily modified their previous one, hance RedEngine 3, and not WitcherEngine, or CDPREngine. It’s the next iteration of their previous engine, so things look similar

Is an open world game constantly streaming large portions of terrain in the background not different, large, but segmented areas from TW2? Don’t you think that requires quite an overhaul to an already existing technology?. Is Unreal Engine 4 not a new engine then? Maybe CryEngine 3 is more or less the same piece of software as CryEngine 2?

Furthermore…after the new trailer…do you really think the game looks similar? Previous trailer were obviously in alpha. The graphics look much better in this lastest trailer, and there are still eight, almost nine months until release to improve even on those visuals.
