Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance DLC goes free as full game gets discounted

Tuesday, 5th November 2013 10:13 GMT By Dave Cook

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance publisher Konami has made the game’s DLC packs available for free, as well as discounting the base game.

Eurogamer reports that the game is now $29.99 on PS3 and Xbox 360, while both the Jetstream Sam and Blade Wolf DLC is now free.

The company said in a statement, “The lower price point gives new fans the opportunity to experience the game at a reduced price, with the added bonus free DLC packs that lengthen the overall experience.”

We’ve got screens and details on the Jetstream Sam DLC and the Blade Wolf DLC through the links.

Meanwhile, the PC version of Metal Gear Rising is looking good, according to Kojima. It’s still not out yet.

    So thanks to PS+, that basically means we’ve gotten the entire game and its DLC for free?

    @1,
    Yes. But its never enough.

    PS+ sucks. Even though it provides 5 FREE GAMES PER MONTH.

    Edit – Is this US only? Not seeing it free in Eu PSN.

    It’s not free on the US PSN yet either, but I’d assume this would be the type of thing that wouldn’t change until the store updated.

    @2 Should be free on the EU Store (for PS+). I just installed it yesterday here in Germany.

    @5 – Personally, I loved it. Not as good as DMC3 or Bayonetta, but still really damn fun. If only it were a longer game and Raiden eventually got a double jump, it’d be perfect.

    @5 It certainly can seem frustrating at time, until you unlock the dodge move and suddenly realise that it’s the most broken, exploitable ability in the game and the whole thing suddenly becomes a cakewalk.

    Had a blast playing this game and if it wasn’t for me controlling my spending I would have been bought the DLC. Super happy to have it for free later Sam was awesome

    @6,
    Not the game, the DLC. Its not free right now.
    As Clupula said, maybe it will happen after the store update.
    Then again, knowing how awesome Sony is with weekly updates, maybe not ;)
