Battlefield 4: Paracel Storm, Obliteration Mode, massive gamescom destruction – gameplay video

Wednesday, 4th September 2013 16:46 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Battlefield 4′s 64-player Paracel Storm was on display at gamescom in August, and VG247′s Sam Clay sat down with DICE’s creative director Lars Gustavsson to discuss the multiplayer map, Levolution and the breaking of dams and levees.

Obliteration Mode is part of the new Paracel Storm map where players are tasked with destroying enemy bases after they have randomly spawned in a location on the map. The team which ends up destroying all three of the enemy bases will win the match. There will be seven modes in multiplayer when the game launches.

During his time with Gustavsson, Sam also got his mitts on a controller and tried out the multiplayer for himself. You’ll see clips of that in the video above.

Battlefield 4 will be available October 29 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and will also be made available for PS4 and Xbox One once the consoles launch.

So, basically, EA games will be avalible for PS4 in the US on 15 November despite the EA/MS partnership? Wow.
I got a PS4 with BF4 and Fifa 14 for November 29. Hope the guys that play this do a great deal of beta testing for the rest of us lol.

@2 – EA and MS don’t have a partnership. MS just made some deals with them, kind of like how Activision and Sony have a deal for exclusive Destiny content.

Yes, just like Sony had a deal with EA with bf3 and the one-week exclusive DLCs.

Im probably too used to COD but it feels to me that some of those guns lack details, or smth. It’s a bummer, but that doesnt change anything.

EA deals with MS are per title, same as EA deals with DSony are also per title. Finally it seems, sounds like, and smell like it is timed based exclus. games for both platforms.

I cannot talk about COD because I never played it. Though Dice throw a great deal into designing at best weaponry, vehicles, animations etc etc. It is more ported onto simulation/FPS rather than Action/FPS as I want to assume COD is.
Although and I hope DICE read this, I really hope they stop listening to players so bad to screw with the whole gameplay, physics, weaponry stats all the time.
At the beginning the FAMAS was a god toy, nowadays the FAMAS is gay and that is not the only point.
I just don’t understand why DICE played like blizzard in BF3 by revampping/annihiliating everything from head to toe. Was DICE anxious with BF3 to not be enough like COD….???
