Resident Evil 6 DLC slate reveals three Xbox 360 timed-exclusive modes

Tuesday, 11th September 2012 11:17 GMT By Dave Cook

Resident Evil 6 players on Xbox 360 will receive timed-exclusive access to three new DLC game modes after the game launches on October 2.

Capcom said the three new gameplay modes will “expand on the multiplayer elements available in the retail version and deliver new and exciting ways to enjoy the world of Resident Evil 6.”

The modes and the descriptions are as follows:

  • Survivors Mode: Takes the classic solo- and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and you respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down two human characters to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins.
  • Predator Mode: One player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players. The humans’ task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.
  • Siege Mode: Choosing the human side in this mode will see players protecting a single NPC, while as a member of the enemy team, players will need to eliminate that same NPC. If the NPC is still alive at the end of the time period, the human team wins.

Survivors, Predator and Siege modes will all support up to six players online and be played using maps from Mercenaries Mode.

Players can track accomplishments in three modes alongside the main campaign by registering on the free online service ResidentEvil.Net.

A price has not been announced as of press time.

Further post-launch downloadable content for Resident Evil 6 will include additional maps for Mercenaries, which can in turn then be used as maps for Survivors, Predator and Siege modes, plus other items yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Resident Evil 6 just received a new trailer that focuses on ‘hope’ Watch it here.

Yay, more timed exclusive DLC! No doubt this will compensate the lack of innovation and new IP’s on the 360…

Waiting for PC version. Could get the 360 version if co-op is really, really good.

These are probably some stupid mercenary modes, I probably scoop this up for the ps3. Capcom is not a fan of the pc market, so I doubt if they include anything DLC related, if they even release RE 6 on the PC.

You’re right, I think I’ll wait for the gold or ultimate or survival edition (whatever they’re going to call the thing) comes out. It’s sad to see what Capcom has become this gen. Their ridiculous prices that they charge the consumer for the street fighter character’s outfits is just beyond crazy.

According to a post they put on on Facebook the modes are called ‘Survivors’, ‘Predator’ and ‘Siege’. It doesn’t mention the timed exclusivity but I’m assuming these are the same modes.

This is what happens when you let the richest company spend it’s money… you say it’s good for the consumer? NOPE… we basically have to spend another $40-$60 just to get half baked maps or modes that should be less than $20 TOTAL or already included in the game itself.

M$, I think you for your operating systems… that allows me to play Steam games. :)
