GTA 5 screenshots show police, helicopters, man hanging onto semi
GTA 5 was gifted with more screenshots today by Rockstar. The firm has graced the masses with 10 screenshots this week. Rockstar has promised more Grand Theft Auto 5 content will arrive in the next few weeks, but failed to say what we can expect. The game has not been given a release date yet.

That’s not a train, it’s a truck. The wheels kind of give it away.

Why is there so much motion blur on so many of the screenshots? Can’t see a damn thing…

@1 Yeah I noticed after I finally had time to look at the entire thing. When you’re in a rush you don’t see the full picture sometimes – plus when R* makes it so you can’t just download the pic but you have to “print screen and paste” into a photo program, it just happens. At least I got the “hanging onto something right,” ya know.

True, could’ve been worse, it could’ve been “train hangs onto man”.

Pretty much any game could do without that too IMO. If i want depth i’ll turn on 3D Vision.

@7 Sadly, I have seen that before – granted it was toy train and I shudder at the recollection.

if you cant tell thats a tow truck on a road wtf! i think people are going to be in the country side more than in the city lol. i think the guy on the truck is from a cut scene. but there might be mutliple charachters. i hope we get a release date soon!

Hmmmm that must be the new Infernus, My favee
)
Now im with everyone else saying theres no way this is going to release in 2012, But with the amount of screenshots there throwing out this week, i assume we will have another trailer within a week or 2. and maybe a release date.
2012 might be possible, R* are pretty unpredictable like that

I’m still calling November as the release date. I’m happy to eat humble pie after.

@12 Im with u dawgg
it seems to soon for them to start to be starting for this campaign if there aiming for a next year release.
There’ll keep bleeding us these little bits till mid september then drop a second trailer with a november release date, then a month of propper campaigning to make sure everyone knows the date, although it would probably only take 3 days really.
Then november launch and the christmas best seller.

Its the same engine that was used in RDR and Max Payne 3 on the PC ran like a dream. I think because GTA IV was the first game on the engine it had some issues.

This won’t drop in November. It just wouldn’t dare compete with both Halo 4 AND Black Ops 2. Why would you bother? It can claim next April all to itself and sell a bucketload, just before new consoles are announced in June

Dont kid yourself dude, GTA is the biggest name in gaming. Cods allready losing steam and i reckon most of the casual gamers that may only buy 1 or 2 games a year would pick this up over cod anyday.
Infact if GTA is announced for november i wouldnt be too surprised of Halo dropped out till next year, Cod’s a little bit more stubborn, they want to keep their 1 new game a year record going, but a delay for halo 4 would be nothing but good. Gives the devs more time to polish up and takes it out of the running of GTA & COD

if you read both articles it says gta sold 66 millions units to date and call of duty has sold 55 millions to date. one releases every year and the other takes a while between games. 66 > 55 million right?

Neither hold a torch to Mario or Pokemon. Neither of those links are anywhere near modern- years out of date, even wikipedia’s list of highest selling franchises is more accurate despite the constant tampering.

COD has done in a much quicker fashion than that of Rockstar.
Rockstar is not going to come out with GTA V in November they never release their game when there is competition. They always pick the month that is the lightest. Look at all their previous releases even RDR, Max Payne and LA Noire followed this example. They won’t throw down against MS and Activision if it means that it will hurt their sales.
@33
I used those because those were the lastest numbers as stated from the source. WHich from the COD article being 2 years behind would mean that there have been 2 COD release which would put it above GTA series since there hasn’t been a GTA lately.

@36, Check its sources, check vgchartz, check any of the numerous statements by the publishers. If my net were faster, I’d actually link the information but because I’m on a stupid internet plan that I have no control over, I’m barely getting 20KBps because I’m fucking shaped.

I looked at the sources that is why I came to those. The article I list is from activision and the same for GTA. TO trust anything else is silly since they are just going off of what is stated by the publishers.
To suggest vgchartz is the stupidest reply I have ever heard. It would be worse than just getting info from Wikipedia.

Those numbers plus two cod releases (one record breaker/holder & the other damn close) definitely puts cod on top. Simple math, really.

@38, Nothing hugely wrong with vgchartz except they don’t release digital & retro sales. They are estimates that are updated to reflect official statements.

lmao you guys are going to use a game that releases every damn year to call it bigger than gta. i can tell you if gta releases every year or even every other year it will be way higher than cod. good thing rockstar actually make significant changes to each version before they release games. there is no way they will be afraid to release a gta game at any time.

If GTA would be released every year, you would get the worst game there is. Rockstar milks the franchise with idea and they are always pushing technology, physics, environment, gameplay, soundtracks and storytelling.
CoD on the other hand built on the old engine and gameplay have not changed since 2003 year, except for meta-gaming changes with 4 to 7 hour linear campaign with shitty script from hollywood writers.

@ Phoenixblight, Activision are a bunch of lazy ass bitches, using other Game-Devs as slaves and mostly all the COD series are nothing but “CUT AND PASTE” games, Activision release every fucking 6 month a game on the market close with Battlefield release, and selling fucking maps for 15 smackaroos, COUNT ME OUT!!!
And so fucking what if Rock-Star take 5 years to make a game, they all selling like hotcakes, all titles that RockStar makes are bestsellers and no other game-devs can take that away from them….

besides, if you want to start comparing Rockstar sales with IW and Treyarch, don’t forget to include Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noir and other franchises Rockstar made. These guys know how to make good games and new iPs’

It doesn’t matter if they “copy and paste” games they still have sold more than most series of game so it works with what they have done and they would be a fool not to continue doing it. People like yearly releases obviously.
I was just merely point out that Rockstar games are not bigger than COD. THe series started later than GTA and they have sold enough units to be a heavy contender against it.
“besides, if you want to start comparing Rockstar sales with IW and Treyarch, don’t forget to include Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noir and other franchises Rockstar made. These guys know how to make good games and new iPs’”
No, GTA was being compared against Halo and COD. ANd btw LA Noire was not done by ROckstar at all just published by them and they don’t own the rights to the IP.

@Phoenixblight, wrong as always.
La Noire is a TT/Rockstar game, not TB game. You can read it even in wiki
Rockstar was involved in the development. (Rockstar Leeds)
and you can’t compare GTA to COD or Halo to be honest. Every franchise have different development cycles and different times when it launched.
but if you will start comparing studios and their sales, then maybe it’s going to be something.
