Diablo III Mac update to add support for MacBook Pro Retina displays

Blizzard will update Diablo III specifically to support Apple’s newly announced, Retina display-equipped MacBook Pros.

The new line of MacBook Pros was detailed at Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference, and sports a 2880×1800 Retina display, which – let’s face it – will probably be quite glorious to behold.

During Phil Schiller’s keynote, as reported by GamesIndustry, Diablo III was highlighted, with an update promised for the OS-X version of the dungeon crawler which will make use of the added pixels. Apple showed screens of the game, presumably at an epic resolution.

“You are going to see a gaming experience unlike any you’ve seen before,” Schiller said.

Presumably the new Pros have the grunt to power Diablo III at reasonable settings, too – my Air manifest as a living creature specifically to shed bitter tears of pain when I suggested we try it.

@#1 Lol, why is it stupid? I wanna see Diablo on a retina display. I wanna see it even more on a retina display that isn’t mac, but face it, it’s gonna look awesome.
