Kojima: Metal Gear Rising to be first playable at E3 2012

Wednesday, 18th January 2012 07:38 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Hideo Kojima’s confirmed in this week’s Famitsu that a playable build of Metal Gear Rising will debut at E3 in June.

Kojima was speaking as part of a roundtable interview for the mag featuring him, as well as Platinum Games CEO Tatsuya Minami and producer Atsushi Inaba.

The interview also touched upon how the collaboration between Kojima Productions and Platinum came about, which was previously detailed in a documentary video following the game’s VGA unveil.

Kojima said the collaboration started getting serious at the Vita announcement press conference last January, with Minami adding that stealth was removed from the game because it didn’t fit with the new nature of the game.

MGR is expected to release this year for PS3 and 360.

Thanks, Andriasang.

And this is why Platinum Games were the best people for the job.
Hideos team was working on it for so long before with no sight of anything playable.

I caant wait to play this once its out.

@1: Don’t see your point. They have a little more than 2 years for the game. The game had a lot of elements that are ready. Many other developers would be able to pull that off.

The game will be playable, but will it be released this year?

Still think Ubisoft would’ve been a better choice.

Like I said, Platinum games are the best people for the job… Bayonetta sums it up.

@6: Hopefully not. MGS is already kind of stupid. PLATINUMGAMES could make it even worse.

@5 Because that’s no more ridiculous than amphibious mechs, possessed, talking arms, genetically cloned triplets and and a self-aware artificial intelligence attempting to control the direction of society, right?

@8: We all know how stupid MGS is. But it was never close to games like Vanquish and Bayonetta. You should be able to admit that.

I would just like to point out that Platiunum can do serious, Infinite Space takes its self stupidly seriously.

Its just all the big budget things that Platinum have had a hand in so far have been stupid as all hell. People would be complaining if Kojima had given Rising to Grasshopper.

Well I would’nt because I think a GHM developed MGS would be amazing but yeah.

Pink Floyd = stupid. No story and lame ass lyrics. Leary = braindamaged tool. John Lily = crazy ass old man.

Space Giraffe = silly looking Tempest.

    Horses for courses I suppose.
