Wait, how the hell can Team Bondi get nominated for “Best Debut”? I love LA Noire but they’ve made games before (I’m pretty sure Getaway had a Team Bondi logo or something in front of it).

Also, glad to see Dark Souls up there! Hopefully either that or Batman gets the top prize.

I’m pretty impressed by that list.

I don’t see any games that don’t belong up there, except maybe Deus Ex. Isn’t this one paid for by the industry as well? How did Terraria get on there?

I would only add that Battlefield 3 should be contender under “Best Audio”. I played that game with virtual surround sound headphones and it was astounding.

Oh, and I’d put U3 up for GOTY before Deus Ex and B:AC anyday (I actually preferred B:AA over the sequel).

@1 The Getaway was made by Team Soho. The Getaway just happened to be written and directed by Brendan McNamara, the guy who founded Team Bondi.

Wow, talk about f-up on my part. I knew there was a McNamara somewhere in Getaway. It had some similar themes and relatively decent writing.

Thanks for the correction and the info :)

dark souls and batman AC do not deserve to be the “Best Game Design” i would replace them for dead space 2 and rayman origins

@6 No you don’t deserve to best design award! But seriously, I think it deserves to be there. Sure, it’s not as awesome as Demons Souls but its still a good game with superb level, boss / enemy and RPG design.

Portal 2 was one of my favourites last year, along with infamous 2. @peeps who spoke about The Getaway, probably one of the most underated games of the PS2, over shadowed by GTA:VC at the time, but seriously was one of my favourite games, the cut scenes were brillaint, it was like watching a guy richie film.

and this is what a proper video game award nomination list should look like with appropriate categories ^_^

Great stuff and to me Arkham City, Skyrim, Portal 2, Deus Ex 3 and Bastion all deserve as much praise as they can get :D
