Rumour – The Last of Us teased in Uncharted 3
Eagle-eyed players have spotted what appears to be a teaser for PlayStation 3 exclusive The Last of Us in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

The video below shows a newspaper found in Uncharted 3 with the headline “scientists are still struggling to understand deadly fungus”. The Last of Us, which is to be debuted with a trailer at the VGAs on Saturday, is strongly tipped to be a horror title about a fungus.
VG247 has verified that the content appears in-game, and can confirm that it was not patched in post-release, but shipped on-disc from day one.
Promotional material on the game’s website pull from a documentary about a brain-eating fungus which controls ants’ behaviour.
A new image released yesterday shows a newspaper mentioning that “millions are feared dead or infected”.

On the other hand this is a brilliant teaser. No one even cared until this day

It’s there pre-patch 1.02. That tease has been in the game since release day, and yet no one knew about it until now!

It’s going to be mind blowing if it is collaboration between Santa Monica and ND.
I think ND offers them mocap and character-based cinematic studio.

That’s great! Love it! Very clever. They always know devoted and eagle-eyed fans will catch on to something like that. Perfect and fun marketing idea.

Personally, I think this is ridiculous. The assumption is that The Last of Us is even about a fungus. That conclusion was drawn from IGN based on the source footage. I just don’t see the connection.

^ ‘The Last of Us’ Facebook page has actually put this video up. So it seems it might indeed be related.
Of course it in no way means that ND have anything to do with the game.
