Minecraft hits 3 million units sold

Notch has just said on Twitter that Minecraft has now sold 3 million units. Here’s the tweet: “Minecraft just sold its third million copy!” Amazing. The game first launched bare bones in 2009, with the full version launching on November 11 and an Xbox 360 version to follow this holiday season.

Minecraft first launched in 2009 in the Classic form.

That amass to what… roughly 45 million euro? Don’t know how many copies was sold before the price went up but that should keep Mojang going for a while I believe…
