Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam getting unlockable Operation Hastings map

BFBC2V

DICE plans to release a map called Operation Hastings for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, but there’s a catch.

The game’s players in the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 communities must each collectively amass 69 million team actions before the map will be unlocked for all to enjoy.

A team action constitutes any/all of the following actions: resupply, revive, heal, spot, and repair. Team actions performed both in the main game and the digital expansion count towards the common goal.

It all starts on December 21 when the game is released on PSN and XBL for £9.99/$15/1200 MS points.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam will be available on Dec 18 on PC through the EA Store and Steam.

The Operation Hastings map was first used in DICE’s  Battlefield: Vietnam on PC.

“Team Actions”

Might take a bit longer for the console crowd. In my experience 90% of console gamers regard “team actions” as not shooting team mates – as long as they don’t get in the way.
