    33 hours & 50 mins til i own this :D
@7 ODST wast supposed to be DLC, they just slapped a mutliplayer disk with all the DLC & labelled it a new game, so it’s good value, same as a GotY Edition with a different campaign & an additional survival mode, but if you had already bought all the DLC & hanged onto your original halo 3, i can understand the frustration

I completed the single player campaign last night, its pretty good. I imagine most of the scores above are based on the multiplayer side though, which I’ve yet to try.

It “appears” again that Multiplayer was the focus with a solid yet below average Single Player Campaign. I expected Bungie to Really go BALLS out on Both, instead of focusing on the balance being Multiplayer.

To be Honest, the “MONEY” to be made by Microsoft is Multiplayer DLC! Those little Map Packs that come out that are ridiculously overpriced, and believe me, Halo Reach Maps will be overpriced!

As a Single Player, I was expecting of all Franchises, Bungie to give “ALL” players, SP and MP, a massive over the top send off. Sadly it seems we SP are left out in the cold yet again, if not with a nice coat, though it would be better to be inside by the fire sipping a brandy with the MP crowd!!

As a Gamer I am truly concerned for the future of us Single Campaign Players…I can already see us being added to the near extinction list, if not already.

NOTE: This is not a dig at you MP’s..you should be very happy with what you are getting, but as a SP, I am disappointed, and with Bungie, I think us SP had certain expectations going in…thinking we were getting a completely flushed out Strong Story Driven Campaign that had depth and meat to it, instead of an ODST 2.0

Oh well..still looking forward to it, just not as excited as I was!

@13: this is true for many shooters but not for videogames in general i think. Look at fallout for example. Fable 3 also looks like a much longer and even more solid sp game than 2. I personally dont mind a shorter sp for a game like halo. This is a mp beast. mp is awesome fun. In fact i cant concentrate on playing the sp because i cant wait to enjoy the mp awesomeness.I thought the bc 2 campaign had thr perfect length as well.

I love me some Halo. Ive been playing Halo since the 1st game. I played part 1 and 2 on xbox and on PC, Halo 3, and Halo 3: ODST and have beaten them all on legndary and put in tons of hours into multiplayer and can say that most, if not all, of those reviews sound like they got handed some marketing money.
I never thought any of the Halo’s deserved anything over than a 4/5 or a 8.5/10
O well. I guess i’ll know for sure once my copy arrives in the mail.

“As a Gamer I am truly concerned for the future of us Single Campaign Players…I can already see us being added to the near extinction list, if not already.”

tbh, I don’t know what you lot see in single player… The AI is always predictable, and once you know how to beat it, there’s no challenge. There’s basically no reason to come back other than to do the exact same things over and over again.

I think the majority, myself included, enjoy playing and beating other people.

Sure, some people are anti-social, and might be afraid to communicate with another human beings online, but it’s possible to turn off all communication and play most online games without ever having to.

Also, I agree that the days of devs focusing on SP do seem to be coming to an end. If for nothing other than for making money from subscription systems like Pachter’s been suggesting.

Anyway, this looks like the same old Halo to me. CE was fun, but that was years ago. The MP is too slow for my liking, so I might give Reach a miss.

For some reason i was never a big Halo guy. But recently i started playing it and enjoyed it alot. I played the Reach beta and really liked it. I’m definitely gonna spend more time on the MP now, so that i won’t get killed all the time, haha.

I also really want to see what people are gonna come up with in terms of custom maps and stuff.

@ 17 I would hazard to guess you are young and can’t remember FPS on PC’s that had absolutely NO ONLINE component, or very limited. I remember getting my first copy of Shareware of Doom or Wolfenstein on floppy. I also was a HUGE fan of WING COMMANDER which was nothing more then a First Person Shooter in space, same with FreeSpace. I remember going to Sams to get a Movie Tin Containing Wing Commander and T-Shirt..It was all about the Single Player.

I am by first and foremost a FPS fan, then games like Third Person Adventures like Fallout and Fable come in. I just completed Dark Void, Shooter Third Person. Not the greatest game but I am desperate for those type of games.

Nothing wrong with MP Beasts as you put it. I have just noticed that the first Game of Halo opened up a HUGE world and started a Cannon that I as a single player was enjoying exploring. MP Games as of this point, have no Depth of story line…The Deepest I have played is Resistance 2 MP, and because of the multi-layered quests within it, I was hooked. It was nothing like capture the flag, skulls, king of the hill. In fact I would think most MP’s wouldn’t enjoy the Story Driven side of Resistance 2, because all players were human and played against the Chimera…true they had simple offerings as well where you could play CTF and such, but I never played that.

I would love to see a Halo MP Game where you worked as a team, and completed that quest, it unlocked another part of the map, and you moved on to that quest, fought a Boss, threw some switches, gathered some intel and did the same things you did in Single Player…Fire Fight kind of starts that but has no real depth to it. I really think Resistance 2 was ahead of it time and hopefully we will see more of that.

Friends of mine that are in their 20′,s that is all they care about is how many maps are in the MP and what types, if there is any hint of a story or doing anything more then ranking up, getting new armor, or just blindly running and gunning, they are not interested.

To me, I want to understand the character I am, I want to put myself in his/her shoes, and understand and really feel it, MP just can’t do that. When your Playing MP, what is the story and background of your Character you are playing, you have no idea…and to be honest I bet most don’t care. To me though, it gets just redundant and repetitive, there is no resonance with me. Oh well I died 127 times today playing MP, but I am ranked 487…all this means nothing to me.

I am about the Journey. I love learning the character and the challenges they had in the past, present and the pains of the future. Master Chief has that, he has depth and a story arc, and I identify with that..A stolen youth, an internal struggle, and the weight of being possibly the last hope!! MP’s just don’t care about that!! Its all about running, gunning, collecting and ranking.

Now don’t get mad…All that said…NOTHING WRONG WITH MP AT ALL!!! just not for me…I need more. Could come from all those Long Lengthy PC titles I played when I was young, when consoles were nothing more then intellivision, and coleco vision, and the sega master system, and atari 2700 and such.

As I have posted in these pages, I just think you could develop a MP Halo ONLY disc game and put it out to retail and sell it with no problems, and I also think you could put out a SP Halo ONLY disc game and do just as fine. This will never happen due to cost, but what gets lost is either MP or SP. Well the money is in MP right now..not with it being on the Disc, but in the form of DLC.

So I don’t fault you at all just wanting a Meaty, Beastly MP FPS…but I sure would love a really good Meaty, Beastly, story driven FPS for us SP..I think we can both exist in the gaming universe.

@21. unfortunately i wouldn´t call myself young anymore…but still far from being old i guess/hope. i hear you: l also enjoyed resistance 2´s mp and i really hope they will work this out even better in R3. to gaming in the past decades: the games back then had a different magic/spirit thats for sure. it´s always the same when things go mainstream: they become more professional but loose their soul. that happened to gaming as well. still we got some extremely well crafted videogames today and i am really looking forward to some new ip´s like rage and brink for example…these two look like they could deliver what you are missing in gaming. i hope so for myself as well. in the end it´s all about the variety in gameplay and the creativity in game design to keep things fresh. i hope developers start to take risks again to try something new. still i enjoy “simple” competetive mp games as well when they are good – very very few are though, i´d count bad company 2 and most halo games in (didn´t like halo 3 mp much).

I guess what is MP or SP?

MP: Is a Sandbox with 2 points of contention, Red Flag vs Blue Flag, Protect a point vs take a bomb to that point, Human vs Alien, Launch your missile vs before the launch their missile, capture their base vs them capturing your base. Characters you play have no story, just carbon copies, clones if you will.

SP: Open world (sometimes closed), multi-layered depth Character, usually struggling internally or externally. Max Payne death of wife vs Master Chief’s struggle to save a race and planet. Options..Be Good vs Evil, your choice. Star Wars( Dark side vs Light side), Mass Effect, Fable( evil you look a certain way), Bioshock (kill the little sisters)
    Choices, it is about Choices.

In MP Halo what if I am a Halo Grunt and I decide to start helping the humans, can’t do that in MP. Wouldn’t it be COOL in Halo MP if you started playing, say a Grunt, you start shooting your own and Defect to the Humans, and you get to fight right along side the Humans because you believe in their cause, and you can remain that Grunt and rank up in the levels as the humans, oh but wait you can’t their is no choice..one side or the other

Say in Medal of Honor…I am a Taliban and I believe what they stand for is wrong, so I defect to the American side…and rank up that way. The Struggle of being true to self yet the struggle of the group conscience.

Why has NO ONE in MP thought of DEFECTING CHARACTERS and allow us to do something simple as that in MP???

Just one of many idea’s that could beef up MP! Lets have a FPS MP that is quest based…Similar to the Story part of MP of Resistance 2..they started but needed more depth.

@ Gigahurtz…I understand your “Scripted” Comment..that is why Warren Spector went with Dues Ex, trying to give you choices?? We are still a long way from that, well unless you can stack about 100 Consoles on top of each other, but no one is going to do that…but as we know Technology is leaping and bounding..Look where we have come from the Commodore 64 days?? Even Peter Molyneux tries this.

Is it possible in FPS SP to try and get away from scripted AI, different game every time you play..YOU BET…can it be like MP..NOPE not until our Consoles have adaptable dendrites that learn and grow as we play. But you got to admit MP holds up only for so long till you learn the map inside and out..then your bored and want a new map. MP Challenge lessens as you play the Map. Admit it, when you learn a MP Map, you tend to learn the best places to run to not get sniped, where weapons spawn, the best advantage points and so for…So in a Way…A Well Learned MP Map is scripted too!!

Wow I could go on and on about this…I just think we can exist on the same space.

add to my last post: bc2 is pretty deep actually – the mp doesn´t feels like a single player but because of the light rpg elements and the atmosphere it really manages to capture a “real battlefield” atmosphere. it doesn´t feel like a simple mp arena shooter like cod (no hate for cod – it´s also a great mp shooter just very different – most competitive while bc2 is more tactical and teamwork oriented). also borderlands tried to bring the sp experience to the mp…in this case it didn´t really work for me but i liked the game anyway….and yeah. let´s wait and see what deus ex will bring to the table. very promising and ambitious it looks.

“tbh, I don’t know what you lot see in single player… The AI is always predictable, and once you know how to beat it, there’s no challenge. There’s basically no reason to come back other than to do the exact same things over and over again.”

You completely miss the point of the Singleplayer campaign. I give a rat ass about Singleplayer AI or challenge. I give a big deal about story, setting. Singleplayer is not dead and never died.

God Of War 3 sells, Uncharted 2 sold, The Last guardian, Dead Space, GTA’s, STALKER’s, Enslaved, Vanquish and e.t.c. There are a lot of good singleplayer games.

    PS:

These scores are not a surprise at all considering how much ADVERTISMENT they had on each site.
For me it’s opposite. I played Reach today in the morning on my friends cracked Xbox 360.
Same old Halo. Campaign now for sake has some cinematic engine trailers. It’s like Bungie need YEARS to do it.
Nothing special. Halo is basically slow Unreal tournament Rip Off with absolutely bad graphics, design, sound. Oh yeah 2 things are amazing: Sky and music. Music was always awesome in the franchise but thats just it. Did you played Singleplayer campaign? I mean thats hell of a story. I hope Reach writer will go back to school.

@29: what do you expect from a franchise where the main character goes by the name of MASTER CHIEF i repeat: M A S T E R C H I E F …even a 14 year old airsoftplayer these days wouldn´t dare to choose a ridiculous name like this…i mean that says it all. halo always had a weird, even strange story. i don´t mind. that´s what i mean. halo to me is more about the mp….same with the battlefield franchise. i really don´t mind that. in these games the sp is an add on to the mp experience – not vice versa like in most games. can´t see anything wrong with that if we still see some good sp games – which i also enjoy. like i said: the variety is what keeps gaming fresh.

  31. frostquake

Oh and I don’t want to make anyone mad about this. SP can’t exist without MP and MP can’t exist without SP, they feed each other!

Halo MP is strong because of the story driven SP! You CARE about the characters!

Look at a game like Sector 8…Just a MP..it failed because just empty clones..you had no vested interest in the struggle because there was not back story with depth.

I really don’t think we would care about Halo if it just would have stayed a Generic MP! Just look at the latest Videos of Remember Reach:
    http://www.gametrailers.com/video/remember-reach-halo-reach/703410

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKRlWLDWhGI

In here you find Pain, Sadness, Hope, Fear, and Struggle..without this story driven background you would really not care about the clones you play! It is the SP that gives the background to why we continue the struggle in MP! That is why Halo is one of the most successful Games out there, and something like Call of Duty has lost its way on.

Oh well it is truly impossible for me to go in-depth here without writing a book..I just think we can have both, but that MP does better if it has a strong under current of a strong struggle like Halo’s SP Story..just one of a million of ops. :)

    #31 4 years ago
  32. frostquake

@ polygem..when you watch the latest story commercials for Halo Reach..The solider getting blown up but his buddy picking up the bomb and the helpless in his eyes as he watches his buddy fly away and continuing the struggle, or the citizens of reach, the pregnant woman, the mother..all not knowing it is over..it is these SINGLE moments, these SINGLE stories that make you want to join the fight!! Without this resonance you would care less. It pry’s at your inner being to fight the fight and pick up the struggle against these aliens, these oppressors.

If it wasn’t for the SP, I would never have felt sorrow for the Grunts, who seem to be slaves against there wills. How would I have known this without a SP component, you don’t get that in MP, at least not yet!

EDIT: Oh and the point of “Master Cheif” as a name, is that Thankless, Faceless Hero who gives up all, even glory as the nameless stranger who saved the day..kind of like that black and white Serial The Lone Ranger…though you get small glimpses of the internal machinations of this thankless hero…

  33. The Hindle

Pretty much the scores Halo 3 should have got instead of 10s. Im gonna give this a miss till it drops in price, from a few of the reviews ive read, the single player is short and that would be the reason im buying this for as Halo multiplayer is kind of dated when compared to MW or BF.

    #33 4 years ago
  34. frostquake

I will say this..All the Halo Reach Commercials made me think it was going to have Deep albeit, Tearful Single Player Story…I for one was looking forward to feeling sad as I watch a world I just fought for going up in flames, that would make me want to play MP even more..But from the sound of it, it may fall short!

    #34 4 years ago
  35. Erthazus

@31 Section 8 failed because it’s even WORSE Than Halo in singleplayer and multiplayer. It’s even worse than horse shit. You don’t even need to mention about it. But it has better graphics

@30 Multiplayer is also questionable. I saw a lot of options in Matchmaking. Yeah they are really cool, but the design itself cries out loud. Customization with spartans: Just for look
Some weapons are overpowered in the multiplayer
Multiplayer is slow Unreal Tournament Rip Off.
9 maps is not bad these days considering that Activision sells maps for 15 bucks.
When i saw MP, it’s just a stupid chaos, not that it’s BAD or something. But it’s not based on your skill at all unlike Unreal tournament or Quake 3:Arena.
13 year old boy can play this and have fun. Thats great and cool if you are playing FPS FIRST time.

Firefight = Invasion — Nothing special. Just few idiots trying to kill monsters that surrounds you. Again, the mode from the Original Unreal Tournament 2004.
don’t understand why these guys don’t try to rename “Deathmatch” to the “Killmatch” and could say after that: We reinvented FPS!!!11 John Romero? Wut?

  36. NiceFellow

    @ Frostquake

Totally agree and get your points. I enjoy MP but actually prefer titles that are focused on it only as I hate when they have a tagged on SP to tick some marketing box. When I do play MP it’s on PC (still prefer K&M for that sort of thing) and on Steam playing stuff like Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat, etc.

For SP I want long, detailed campaigns where you are part of a story, you’re in the action of a great film unfolding around you. MP doesn’t deliver this experience at all, and I don’t get why MP focused players can’t understand the different. It’s not about predictable AI or whatever, it’s about playing through story featuring you.

Today, I’ve switched to hybrid FPS/RPG like Fallout or Oblivion and in particular titles like Uncharted for SP narratives that are at least somewhat in line with what I want. That and replaying Half Life 2 and wondering when it will ever be topped for SP goodness.

One thing I’d note, while I don’t like it, the key to big success seems to be having just enough SP to generate a feeling of character and situation to then feed the MP.

For example I note that for Halo and Gears the marketing focuses on the SP, Killzone focuses on the SP, the noble Spartans, Master Chief, Marcus, the Helghast, etc. while in reality most people go straight for MP (although I got the feeling the Killzone players did want more out of the SP) and just use the SP to give a sense of depth of purpose (false in my view) to what is essentially a virtual game of Cowboys and Indians (if I can use the old phrase) that rarely differs except in textures and skins.

@Erthazus, thought we all agreed that you would never post on another Halo article, but i felt the same about Halo before i played the multiplayer, thought it was just some generic space shit with a relatively boring story, but i after reading some of of the backstory, i started to love how deep the franchise was, it goes well beyond the game & is just fun to play with friends, but CoD is not, it’s just dull, no backstory, boring campaign & i don’t like having to camp for minutes on end to get a + kill ratio, i just plain hate camping, on Halo it’s hard to camp unlss you find an exploit.
In other news, Halo is, at it’s base, a multiplayer game, the Singe Player component is just the frosting ontop of the cake, but the cake would be dull without the frosting, see my point?(tho i feel the opposite with Halo Wars, i loved the story, but MP was very-meh)

    #56 4 years ago
  57. polygem

one last thing i want to say: marketing or not. i played the beta. i loved the beta. it was fun fun fun. i´m not a halo sp fan. never was. but anyway i scream: reach reach reach. and i do not see any problem if gaming sites dedicate a lot of content to this release – it is a great game – so what?…

    #57 4 years ago
  58. Erthazus

@56 Killzone 2 have great backstory too. http://killzone.com/kz/storyline.psml
but in the game it sucks ass. CoD or Battlefield are absolutely different to Halo, so you don’t even need to compare them. What you really need to compare is THIS: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/titan-pack-unreal-tournament/46965 with Halo. Halo multiplayer is very bad and slow paced and boring as hell. End of story.

    @Fin i was joking :lol:

Unreal & Halo are also very different, i found the unreal touranment stories put me to sleep & the multiplayer, while intense, felt like something missing, well there wasn’t much of a backstory & the game is just too boring, no tactics or skill needed.

    #60 4 years ago
  61. manamana

@Erth: Yes, shure, MP boring as hell. Now THAT must be the reason, millions are playing this series for years.

    #61 4 years ago
  62. Erthazus

@60 Unreal Tournament was never a Singleplayer game.
You said that there is no tactics or skill? All right, ok sir. I will pretend that i don’t know you. Except that Unreal Tournament is a national cybersport game. There are more tactics than in Battlefield or Call Of duty combined if you don’t know that.
Or i need to show you a videos of skilled people playing Unreal? It’s all about a precision and how your teamwork works. If you don’t know right button combinations of jumping, running on the walls or you suck at precision you DIE. If someone said that there is no tactics or skill required he is a casual gamer at best. Go play Halo games there, you need a lot of skill for the arcadish shooter.
Epic Games never makes game where you don’t require skill. Never.

@61 It’s the problem of children, kids and gamers who started playing games on consoles or yesterday. Let them have it’s own fun. I don’t have problem with that.

oh, btw I have to agree with what Ghz said. I would expect the devs totally dropping SP in fps games soon. I think the co-op campaign will stay though. plenty of other genres where SP works, but there’s no way the devs will keep wasting budget on twiddling with AI and putting those levels together when they can spend all that time balancing MP. I would expect one or two games like Deus Ex or Bioshock (then again it’s not quite a mere fps) being released here and there but generally the MP future of this genre is imminent. you also don’t really need the SP for multiplayer to work, ie L4D is a great MP only release.

    #72 4 years ago
  73. Erthazus

@71, Did you forgot to do your homework? :D

@72 Valve, Id software, Splash Damage, Epic Games, Infinity Ward, Treyarch, GSC game World, Crytek and e.t.c disagree with you. Singleplayer campaign in FPS games will never drop.
some people prefer playing multiplayer game knowing the backstory behind characters you kill or who your characters are.
Like for example Gears Of War 3 (It’s not FPS game, but it’s still a shooter). There is a cool mode where grunts fights with locusts and other mutants. It’s not very interesting if you don’t know in what place you are fighting for and e.t.c. except for these guys who give an rats ass about story, setting and e.t.c. just pure gameplay mechanics.

For example STALKER that is very popular in Ukraine or Russia and it’s 90% singleplayer game where you exploring open world Pripyat in the FPS mode. Half-Life 2: Episode 3 is the most anticipated FPS and it’s anticipated because of singleplayer campaign.

id software agree with me since 1997.

and I wasn’t talking about sandbox games or role playing ones. surely something like Just Cause isn’t going anywhere soon as well. I guess it’s really hard for you to read what others ‘re saying?

also, Gears characters and story are as good as nothing, they’re embarassing . and the campaign is a good example of what I’m saying btw, clearly an aftethought and co-op oriented one.

@76 But who said that Unreal has no backstory for characters? :) They have, it’s just very low. Just pure basics. But i play it for the pure mechanics and everybody else too. some games i prefer playing with back story.

@Crysis: Fuck Backstory. When i play a game i want to experience that story. I want to be part of it. Is it really that hard to pull off? Do i really have to read the manual to care about the world of Halo?

    #82 4 years ago
  83. Erthazus

“but halo is right up there with one of the best gaming universes”

    Thats very subjective.

You probably need to read more Sci-fi books or to see BattleStar Galactica, Babylon 5 if you think that Halo is one of the best Sci-Fi gaming universe. Even Mass Effect – Rip off from other Sci-fi universe masterpieces have much better characters, world and e.t.c. Gears Of War series have depth within it’s world. Tron 2.0, STARCRAFT obviously (Not SCII), System Shock 2, DEUS EX obviously, Half-Life, Portal, Warhammer 40K and e.t.c. offer much better and most important it’s clever. Without Generic stuff like Master Chief or typical Sgt Mgr. Johnson

    #83 4 years ago
  84. Crysis

“…offer much better and most important it’s clever” that’s also very subjective, especially considering many of those weren’t created as a gaming universe, it’s like saying SmackDown vs RAW! has the best backstory becase RAW is the longest running weekly television show in US history (granted it does have a huge history, but the game has made very little impace on the franchise & the franchises Universe), it’s all very subjective, but i think most gamers would agree that the Halo universe is up there as one of the largest in history, hense Halo’s large cult following, rivaled by few other gaming universes.

Alright. When you post something, make something on the subject please. Thank you. Have a good day.

@Crysis, yeah, it’s true that there is a big cult. 2 million preorders around the world is not a joke. But this universe don’t deserve this big recognition there are nothing brag about. Halo is not Warhammer 40K, i think you will agree with me on this, even if Halo is popular. Halo is like Jimmy Fallon. Popular and overrated.

Halo is a over rated piece of shit, and was the first game on xbox that microsoft put money into. See b4 xbox was out, the guys at xbox were like ” we need just 1 game so we can atleast compete with sony and sell out dam consoles in masses” so they invested alot into it and didn’t want it to flop, so they paid from hundreds of thousands to millions all up to reviewers for a positive score, and a massive campaign. Now everyone who had an xbox fell into the hype, and i dont blame them, cause there were no other hits or good games on the system, so everyone bought the games, and they had something half decent hyped up to the max to play. And sadly, this continued up into Halo2, Halo 3. By this point they had been playing halo so much, they had gotten used to such a mediocre game and were voiding of propper thinking mentality, that they could not see the need to play other better games, or think rationally as to which is the better console. For example itsucks, he gave in to he halo universe and lost part of his brain. And so naturally, like someone being brainwahsed, all those caught in halo on the xbox, bought a xbox 360 to play just 1 game… halo3, and again, to keep some of these millions satisfied , they again pushed a massive campain and spent millions paying reviewers for decent scores, because they cant afford losing all those millions of fans to ps3. There are so many better games than halo, but you are all trapped under microsofts illusion that there is only 1 game HALO. And the trend now is, bill gates has helped make xbox console owners a younger version of him, yes u halo boys are 98% nerds now. Itsucks has a nerd halo party every weekend. Halo reach has a lame short single player mode, the graphics are still last gen, warhawk looks better!! the average multiplayer is there to satisfy those with a halo fix, to prevent them from going crazy to kill other people. WAKE UP PEOPLE, GET UR HEAD OUT OF UR ASSES

Okay, uber exited for this game stll but you can see where some sites got paid some money for good reviews. Look at IGN..They gave the graphics a 9.5
Really, graphics = 9.5? I dont think so. Ive played the beta, seen the review videos. Graphics = 8 at most and that is even pushing it but then again, IGN has always been gracious towards microsoft with their graphics (even during xbox1 days) and they have been overly gracious towards blockbusters also. And If all that matters is color than Ratchet and Clank deserve a 11/10, and DDR deserves 20/10

O well. I just feel like griping i guess cuz i know im still going to have fun even if the graphics are out dated back to 2006/2007 graphics.

@100, graphics don’t sell, marketing unfortunately does, in the end the customers suffer. Still looks good though, it’s not horrible, just not great either.

@ 41: I too am most disappointed to hear that the SP campaign isn’t up to the standard of Halo:CE’s, especially as I have no interest in online MP. Still, it *has* to be better than Halo 3′s, right? I suppose this is the true result of Alex Seropian leaving the studio – he was the guy that gave the Halo mythos real substance and since his departure in 2002 Bungie has become less and less creative/innovative. It’s like post-Seropian Bungie bears no relation to the studio that crafted ‘Pathways into Darkness’, ‘Myth’ and ‘Marathon’.

Still… I’ll reserve judgement until I actually play the darn thing.

@ 84: Bullshit. The Halo mythos are incredibly well drawn out, even if they are poorly revealed in-game. Even so, you’re merely stating your opinion – it’s not empirical fact that one Sci-Fi story is better or worse than another, it’s just which one you personally like more,. So, for all your bawling, al you’re ever really saying is BUT I DON’T LIKE IT, WAAAAH. While I hope your negative opinions bring your happiness I would be grateful if you could refrain from spouting them at every available opportunity. It makes you come across like an odious troll.

Same applies to Halo vs Unreal – it’s only better/worse or similar/different in YOUR OPINION, not fact. You come across like you’re trying to teach a school class – sit back down and wind your neck in, your opinions are no more (or less) valuable than anyone else here and, quite frankly I don’t think I’m alone in saying I’m sick of seeing you spout them over and over and over all the bloody time. It’s boring – we know what you think, change the fucking record. It comes across like you don’t *want* us to have fun playing a game we actually enjoy. You don’t like it? Fine. Just stop fucking preaching!

Lastly: Halo’s MO is NOT based on Unreal Tournament. It’s based on Marathon Infinity. This *is* FACT. Do some fucking research.
