Debut Bulletstorm trailer literally brings out the awesome

Watch. There’s nothing else we can say then that about the debut trailer of the People Can Fly shooter.
It looks properly fucking bonkers. And for good, we must add. This just shot up our most wanted list tenfold. Watch it below.
There’s a bunch of screens due to go live at 2pm.
The game’s out in Q4 of 2011 for PS3, 360 and PC.
Thanks, D’Toid.

That looks good. Nice kick to the head to set the action up early on. Always like a bit of nin in trailers too.

Looks like Painkiller. Just… faster, bigger, better, and more badass ?

That look ok, not bad, but OK. UE3 is looking not so good. But fast paced FPS mechanics are nice.
But bringing to FPS Duke Nukem hallelujah kick is awesome.

I… er… thought that looked crap, actually. The character models are awful, and the whole thing just looks… I dunno… last-gen.

So we have a 15-18 month wait for this?!
I fucken hate it when companies announce games more than 6 months before release, load of cock!

Apart from the ‘stuck on an island’ bit (as opposed to stuck in ancient greece/the far future), it’s almost what you’d expect from a PCF/Epic cross, but with a points tally.
It also sort of gives the impression of a game where you have to make your own fun. If it goes any further into chaining, combos, etc, then it may not flow well enough as a shooter, but it doesn’t look bad.

graphics doesn´t LOOK that great (ue3 it is and you can see that) but not that bad either. but looks like a lot of fun to play. that counts more for me. looks like a mix of unreal tournament, serious sam and painkiller…will keep an eye on this one…

What Blerk said.
1) NIN. Ugh. Faux Industrial for pussy music listeners.
2) The character’s movement looks stiff and slow, and the action looks bland and weak. It’s nowhere near as dynamic and crazy as they were making it out to be.
It simply… tries too hard.

@21 Dumbass. Stuart Black is working for Codemasters on Bodycount, not this title.
Perhaps you should……. try a little harder?

@22 You’re right. Entirely my mistake. I got the developer mixed up. These games try so bloody hard to be the ZOMG NEXT BIG THING that they all end up getting meshed together into one giant pile of utterly indistinguishable saminess.
Doesn’t make the game look any less disappointing though.

Point on the bear where the bad NIN touched you.

@23 Just realised I was being a little harsh. I withdraw my flames, as you make a valid point. Stomping soundtrack or not, it still looks like Matt Hazard crossed with UT3. That’s what you get for making a game in eastern europe. Just like the plumbers, they’re cheap; but when you’re up to your knees in shit a month later, you’ll wish you hadn’t.

@25 No worries. Nice to see reasonable people on the internet every so often.

lol
You’re happy to see reasonable people on the net yet spout obviously antagonistic, attention seeking, ‘pussy’ quips about liking NIN to people you don’t know. You’re quite the complex character.

Wow that looks bad.
I only saw lots of screenshaking, slow movement and things that will make players be stunlocked at all times.
Screenshaking: When I play a game I dont want the screen to jump up and down all the time when I move around, its annoying, strains your eyes and makes it harder to notice players hiding or far away.
Slow movement: except the sliding stuff, the overall movement seems to be light jogging. This could be wrong because they only let us view 1 second of actual movement.
edit: Actually rewatched the movement parts and it might be actual running speed.
Stunlocking: a lot of the weapons they displayed removed the control of the target, making them float in the air in a ragdoll state, or like the last shot on the ground screaming. If this is multiplayer shots I’m extremely disappointed and I will not play it. Removing control from players is A BIG NO-NO.
You want to let players control other players movement with explosions made from rocket launchers or similar weapons, those things do not stop the other player from shooting you while they are in the air. But removing all control from a player in something that is not a team-based game, that is just bad and overpowered.

@ 27 No, I just simply happen to think that Nine Inch Nails is a terrible pseudo-industrial pop band.
Having enjoyed the genre for over 15 years now, I find it impossible to take Trent or that band seriously, and I can rest safe in the knowledge that 90% of the people who listen to them have never listened to an *actual* industrial band in their entire life.
Nine Inch Nails is to industrial as Linkin Park is to metal.

looked like a lot of fun from where I am sitting…one issue though; all the stun locking? Seems to be an awfull lot of it going on and I can imagine it being really anoying if they don’t balance it or get countering right…other than that though!
