First BioShock 2 reviews go with 9

IGN’s gone live with the first reviews of BioShock 2, with scores being a 9.
IGN US has gone with 9.1, while the UK site went with 9.0.
A blurb from the US review below:
“It’s going to be a familiar experience for anyone that played the original, but BioShock 2′s improvements to gameplay and its more focused storyline make for a game that’s more playable and easier to digest. Some of the sense of awe and mystery is lost in transition, but the strength of the setting and more interesting implementation of moral choice make for an experience that’s more consistent and rewarding.”
The video review’s below.
BS2 is released worldwide for PS3, 360 and PC on Tuesday.

Im playin this now and from what ive seen its pretty good, ive never really got the cult followin from the first even tho i appreciate it and really like it but Bioshock 2 is a much more cohesive this time around specially with the fact you literally pray on the splicers instead of always feeling outnumbered in the first. genius.
I’ll probably plat it by monday too which lets face it is a is a must!

I’m assuming you mean ‘first online’… Or even ‘First credible review’… as I’ve seen a few already over the past month or so.
Anyway, I pre-ordered this at Amazon yesterday only to go into town today and see it Half off with the trade in of Batman: AA at Game.
So i’ll be heading there after college on Tuesday to pick it up!
(Side bar: Tuesday, weird release date :S)

“First credible review”?
PSM3 and the Official Xbox mag have reviewed the game. Being a multiplat i dont see why their scores wouldnt be seen as credible.

Geki, becos no matter what, they are guna try and rate it higher than their competitors.
Example, if PSM3 rates BioShock 9.0 and Xbox mag rates it 9.5 some dumb little kid is guna say “Ohh must be better on xbox then yay for me.” You get my drift?

That dosnt seem true seeing as PSM3 reviewed it after the Xbox mag and gave it a lower score. PSM3 isnt the official PS3 mag either.

OPM gave it 5/5. Said it somehow manages to be better than the original.
Heavy Rain also got 5/5 in recent OPM.

@Gek
I had no idea those magazines were the source of the reviews… I was merely spitballing.

Issue received via mail. I was just throwing the review score out there as an FYI.

Is this accurate? I was leaning towards renting BioShock 2 on account of being a bit strapped for cash at the moment, but I happen to have two copies of Batman — PS3 and 360 — meaning such a deal would tip me over the edge.
