So the argument boils down to whether or not you think ID can produce better GFX than Guerilla, since you’re dismissing both the live demo and the screenshots.

Still makes for a rock solid argument, if you ask me. ID Tech 5 will walk all over Gueruilla’s tech for KZ2. Rage’s real competition is Crysis, not KZ2.

No the argument isn’t if ID can produce better GFX than Guerilla…the argument is that you’re trying to play it smart ass without having proof
and once again the live demonstration was on PC…Search all over the web for it.
Screenshots on any game prove nothing if you don’t see the game in action
and we’ve seen hundreds of times games beeing downgraded or (less)upgraded from their first playable demos
Rage may be what you claim it to be,but maybe not…until we see the final product,no one can tell.

So – and this is the endgame – the argument flows like this.

IF Rage comes out AND features superior GFX to KZ2 AND there is visual parity between the two console and PC versions THEN because it is multi-platform the X360 WILL have something to compete with PS3′s KZ2 (making Halo: Reach’s GFX a moot point).

How can games like “Crysis 3″ or “Rage” be the real competition to “KZ2″?
Their release dates are approximately 2 years apart!

Because the argument ran that the X360 was incapable of running a game with GFX equal or superior to KZ2.

Rage will be on both PS3 and X360 later this year. Since it seems likely that Rage will have superior GFX to KZ2, it follows that the X360 does indeed have the horsepower to run such a game.

Either way, to say that Halo: Reach represents the best GFX the X360 can do is way off track.

We shall see, I suppose.

@174: Whatever, ME2 looks way better than Gears 2 IMHO and I reckon is honestly the prettiest game I’ve seen this gen, other than Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (which is fucking mind-blowingly gorgeous).

Personally, I think ME2 is as good looking as Heavy Rain, let alone Uncharted, but that’s just my personal opinion. I;m not sure why people don’t make more of a song and dance about ME2′s GFX, tbh – they’re some of this gen’s very best on *any* platform.

Actually, Alex Seropian coded Gnop! by himself before officially setting up Bungie, a while before getting Jason Jones involved. I do believe Minotaur was his first collaborative gaming effort, but this is going way back now. I mean, I’d heard of Minotaur but never bothered playing it. First Bungie game I 100%ed was Pathways Into Darkness. To me, the studio died when Seropian and Soell left in 2002.
