Ubisoft just confirmed that Assassin’s Creed II will release on November 20 in the UK.

The game was fixed for a November 17 US date at E3 last week.

Game of the Year? Unless something goes badly wrong, it looks as though it may well be one of them.

Update – Britain’s getting a special edition as well, according to Play listing noticed by EG. It’ll include “a 64-page leather-and-parchment-style Conspiracy development book; an Ezio figurine wearing Master Assassin garb; three in-game bonus quests promising to cover ‘the most prestigious moments’ of the Italian Renaissance; the soundtrack by Jesper Kyd; and behind-the-scenes developer interviews.”

It’s time for the obligatory “can’t wait”. :D

And thats one of the most substansial collector’s editions I’ve seen in some time.
    Substansial price also…

GOTY? Seriously the last game was a massive, massive disappointment! Great visuals but limited, repetative gameplay. I’d love to see the vision behind AC fufilled but the E3 footage did not seem to be a great change.

Does it annoy anyone else that AC seems to have a very ‘gung-ho’ attitiude towards assassination, rather than say Hitman style vunerability. Being surrounded by several armed guards is not an acceptable situation for an assassin and thus should not be merely a minor problem! You shouldn’t be able to fight your way out with ease, its dying time because you’re useless

It would have to be a pretty poor year for AC2 to get GotY, either that or the game has some MASSIVE surprises up its sleeve.

  4. I have high hopes for this game, its in my top 3 for this Autumn.

The demo at the Sony conference just wowed me. You could tell as well from the audience at one point (you know which part I am on about if you’ve seen it).
