Report: Sony to publish Ghostbusters, uncertainty surrounds 360 version

GI’s reporting that Sony’s picked up Ghostbusters from Atari.

The game is set for a June 19 release, but now only on the PS3 and PS2. A PSP version will come months later.

Apparently the 360 version may be released by Atari later on, but there appears to be some uncertainty about what’s going on with that.

Should have more on this soon.

I’m guessing the deal also means the Wii and DS versions won’t get released either. My kids are going to be pissed.

It seems a bit of an odd title to target for an exclusive, too. It’s based on a 25-year-old film, it’s not particularly impressive technically, and it’s certainly not a system-seller. A bizarre move, but props to Sony for finally blowing the moths out of their wallets and doing something. :-)

The physics engine is amazing, Blerk. It’s very impressive technically, imo.

If this doesn’t get released on 360, I will not be pleased.

Sounds like Phil Harrison’s move to Atari is paying off for Sony then :)

There were rumours flying around that Sony were going to snap up the rights to this after the Activision merger, than Atari announced it.

Seems Sony do, do stuff, but they take long enough about it.

But for a change I agree with Blerk. It’s a bizarre choice to single out for exclusivity. Yes it has it’s fans, but it’s never going to be a system seller.
