LittleBigPlanet beta applications open in Japan

littlebigplanet10.jpg

According to this PS3F story, SCEJ is now allowing Japanese PS3 owners to download a LittleBigPlanet theme and get the chance to be entered into the game’s beta. From the piece:

According to the details given, applications to the beta will be accepted from September 17th to September 23rd. The beta itself will take place from September 29th to October 12th. The size of the file will be 950MB. In each region (Japan, Europe and North America), 20,000 users will be selected for a total of 60,000 users. Hopefully we’ll hear about how North America and Europe can get in on the act soon.

More through the link. No confirmation on when this is going to happen in Europe as yet.

I’m curious to see how this performs in Japan. It seems to have all the right ingredients to be a huge success in that region.

Surely you have a Japanese account? I’m not sure if my address of 1 Osaka Rd, Tokyo will get rumbled though – that and the fact I put in the same details for something completely unrelated :D .

Maybe they’ll be better at checking it than Sega was with PSO.

I had my address as Mr. Japan, 1 Japan Road, Tokyo, Japan going for ages. In fact, I still get emails to my old address saying “Mr Japan, we’ve added some new content to PSO:BB!”

Wait, you live at 1 Japan Road too? I wondered why it was getting a little crowded in the mornings in the queue for the shower.
